DYNOPTA dataset V.2 has now been released

Data CDs have been made with one copy provided for all institutions. For those investigators who have not yet received a copy, please contact dynopta@anu.edu.au to ensure a copy has been sent to your institution.

 

PRIZE 20th of July 2009

Congratulations to Dr Allison Bielak who has been awared the American Psychological Association Division 20 Retirement Research Foundation Dissertation Award in the Psychology of Aging.

Here dissertation was:

PhD - Lifespan Developmental Psychology (July, 2008) University of Victoria.
Dissertation: The Relationship Between Short-Term Intraindividual Variability and Longitudinal Intraindividual Cognitive Change in Older Adulthood: Covariation and Prediction of Change.

 

NEW student

Sue Hunt

Sue has begun her PhD with Prof. Colette Browning and Dr Jane Sims at Monash University.  Sue will be using DYNOPTA data to investigate issues around successful ageing.

 

NEW staff

Dr. Yan Yu, a Postdoctoral Fellow working with Dr. Heather Booth at ANU’s Australian Demographic and Social Research Institute (ADSRI).  Yan has expertise in demography and statistics, and will be working on various aspects of the project including analyses related to predictors of mortality, and micro-simulation.    

 

PUBLICATION accepted

A DYNOPTA paper by Dr. Lesley Ross and colleagues entitled Older Drivers in Australia: Trends in Driving Status and Cognitive and Visual Impairment has been accepted for publication in JAGS (Journal of the American Geriatric Society).  The paper investigated the demographic, health and functional factors related to driving status as well as proportions of current reported drivers with probable cognitive and visual impairments.
